What is Open Jam?
Open Jam is a time we’re inviting musicians regardless of their experience with church or church music to come to our campus and play music together.  No frills.  No expectations.  No commitment.  Just you.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?
We have some very basic sound equipment here, so bringing your own amplification is probably best.  We have mics, a keyboard, a drumkit, and upright piano on site.

Do I need to know the music ahead of time?
That depends on you!  If you feel more comfortable knowing the music ahead of time, contact Corie at corie@zionlima.org for the set list and the arrangement.  If you feel more comfortable playing by ear, just show up!

What if I’ve never been to church before?  What if I don’t know anything about Jesus?
That’s okay!  Open Jam isn’t a church service.  We just want to play music together.  We don’t want to convert you or make you feel uncomfortable.  We are going to play Christian music, but we may also play other cover songs, too.

What should I know about Zion and COVID-19?
This is a great question.  We are going to do our best to give everyone enough distance and space to spread out but still be able to hear each other.  While you are in the church building, instrument players who are not singing will be asked to wear a mask.  We’re hoping vocalists will be able to sing and wear their masks comfortably.  After all, we’re just having fun!  We’ll have plenty of disinfecting supplies on hand to clean everything before and after, as well as during if necessary.  More information about the church’s response to COVID-19 can be found here.

Sounds great!  What else do I need to know?
That’s pretty much it!  If you want to come, it’s suggested to contact the church office to so we can keep track of our room capacity.  You can contact Corie at corie@zionlima.org.
